The Glory of the whole trip, why we came this far, to get Dilophosaurus Foot Print Cast from Dinosaur State Park.
Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum is a state-owned natural history preserve occupying 80 acres (32 ha) in the town of Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The state park protects one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America. The park was created in recognition of fossil trackways embedded in sandstone from the beginning of the Jurassic period, about 200 million years ago. The facility is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Visiting Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, was an incredible experience and a must-see destination for anyone interested in dinosaurs and paleontology! The park is home to one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, preserving hundreds of dinosaur footprints that were left behind roughly 200 million years ago during the Jurassic Period.
One of the highlights of the visit was getting to see these incredible footprints preserved in the rock. There is something truly amazing about standing in a building built around such an important piece of prehistoric history and looking at tracks made by dinosaurs that walked across this very landscape millions of years ago. These footprints provide a fascinating glimpse into the lives and movements of dinosaurs and help bring the ancient world to life in a way that fossils alone sometimes cannot.
Beyond the trackways, the park also offers exhibits that explore the dinosaurs and environments of the Jurassic Period, as well as opportunities to learn more about the science behind fossil preservation and paleontology. It was fascinating to explore the park and appreciate the importance of this site to our understanding of prehistoric life.
Dinosaur State Park was an unforgettable stop on my journey through the world of paleontology. Being able to see these ancient tracks firsthand was an incredible experience, and I highly recommend visiting if you ever have the opportunity. It is a truly unique place where you can literally walk alongside the footprints of dinosaurs!
