Walking among real Cretaceous trackways and Jurassic fossils at one of the most famous dinosaur track sites in the world — plus the ichnology exhibits at the Lockley Discovery Center.
Dinosaur Ridge is a segment of the Dakota Hogback in the Morrison Fossil Area National Natural Landmark located in Jefferson County, Colorado, near the town of Morrison and just west of Denver.
My Thoughts
I had an absolute blast visiting Dinosaur Ridge! It was such an amazing way to start the Western Dino Road Trip. The scenery alone is incredible, but being able to walk along the same rocks that preserve dinosaur tracks and fossils from millions of years ago is something really special. There’s something about standing there and realizing you’re looking at evidence of animals that lived such a long time ago that makes the whole experience feel unreal.
If you ever get the opportunity to visit Dinosaur Ridge, I would highly recommend checking it out. Whether you’re a huge dinosaur fan or just someone who enjoys exploring unique places, it’s a beautiful location with an incredible story behind it. Definitely a must-see for anyone interested in prehistoric life!|
